Everything you set up during trial — vouchers, customers, products, invoices posted, customisations made — stays after trial ends. Switching from trial to paid is just a billing event; nothing has to be re-entered.

How to start the trial

  1. Go to https://app.booksmor.com/register.
  2. Fill in business name, email, password, country (IN by default).
  3. Click Create account.
  4. Verify your email with the 6-digit code sent to you.
  5. You’re in. You land on the Choose-a-company screen with your business already created.

That’s it. The 30-day clock starts the moment you create the account.

What happens at day 30

PhaseWhat you can do
Days 1–30 — trialEverything. All add-ons on.
Days 31–60 — graceSame as trial — full read-write — but with reminder emails to subscribe. Booksmor sends 3 reminders over this period.
Day 61+ — read-onlyLogin still works. Voucher creation / editing is blocked. Reports + viewing past data continue to work indefinitely.

So the effective free period is 60 days, not 30 — you have a full month after the formal trial to make up your mind, with the app still fully usable. After that, the app keeps your data forever; you just can’t post new transactions until you subscribe.

Why no credit card?

We don’t ask for a card up front because:

  • You should be able to walk away after the trial without unwiring auto-charges or chasing refunds.
  • An Indian SMB’s “let me try this” deserves to be exactly that — not a 30-day-charge-trap.
  • We’d rather earn your business than pre-collect it.

When you decide to subscribe, you pay via Razorpay / Cashfree / direct UPI. Your card never enters Booksmor’s records.

How to subscribe

After (or during) the trial:

  1. Setup → Subscription in the app sidebar.
  2. Pick the add-ons you want alongside the base plan.
  3. Click Pay now — pay via Razorpay (card / net-banking / UPI), Cashfree, or direct UPI.
  4. The tenant moves from trial to active immediately on successful payment; your renewal date is set to 365 days out.

You can also subscribe via the marketing site (booksmor.com/pricing) before creating an account — checkout there auto-creates the tenant in active state, no trial phase.

During the trial — get the most out of it

Here’s what we recommend trying so you get a real feel for the app:

DayWhat to try
Day 1First-day setup walkthrough — your first invoice posted, GST applied.
Day 2–3Add a handful of real customers, vendors, products.
Week 1Post a week’s worth of real sales / purchases. Check the Dashboard.
Week 2Run a few reports (Profit & Loss, Sales Register, Receivables Ageing). Try the drill-down.
Week 3If you sell online, connect Shopify / WooCommerce. If you have employees, try the Payroll add-on for one pay run.
Week 4Prepare a GSTR-1 for a real month. Try the GSTR-2B reconciliation against a portal download.
End of trialDecide which add-ons earned their keep. Subscribe to those.

The honest test of any accounting app isn’t a demo — it’s a month of your own data flowing through it.

Common questions

Does the trial actually unlock everything? Yes. Payroll, POS, Manufacturing, E-Commerce — all four add-ons are on. You can run real pay-runs, set up real production batches, connect a real Shopify store. The data you create persists.

What if I don’t subscribe within 60 days? Login still works; viewing past data still works; new posting is blocked. Re-subscribe any time and you pick up exactly where you left off.

Can I extend the trial? Email support@booksmor.com with your business name and a reason — we extend when the request is genuine (e.g. owner travelling, mid-migration). We don’t extend on demand for everyone, to keep the trial honest.

Will I lose my data if I don’t subscribe? No. Your data stays in Booksmor indefinitely. You can export it to CSV any time. We archive long-inactive read-only tenants after 12 months but can restore on request.

Do trial users get support? Yes. Same email-support inbox as paid users — support@booksmor.com.

Can my CA log in during my trial? Yes. Settings → Accountant access — paste their CAID and link them. They can view, prepare, or manage your books based on the scope you choose.

Can I invite team members during trial? Yes. Setup → Team → Invite member. No user limit during trial or after.

What if I sign up for a trial and decide it’s not for me? Don’t subscribe at the end of trial; nothing happens. We send 3 reminder emails during the 30-day grace period; if you ignore them, the tenant moves to read-only. No charges, no chasing.

Is there a sandbox / demo data I can play with first? The fastest way to evaluate Booksmor is to start the trial and add your own data. No demo-data load that you’d then have to wipe. If you’d like a guided demo first, write to sales@booksmor.com — we’ll book a 20-minute walkthrough.

Does the trial limit how much data I can enter? No artificial caps. Post as many invoices, add as many customers, run as many reports as your real business needs.

In one sentence

30-day all-features free trial, no card required, plus 30 days of grace after that — so you’ve effectively got 60 days to make up your mind without any payment commitment.
